linebacker will be ready for game action. In his place is senior Joe Schmidt, who is backed up by freshman Nyles Morgan. • Sophomore wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr. is ahead of schedule in his re- hab for a groin tear suffered in early Au- gust. Kelly said Hunter might be able to do some light running during Michigan week and have an outside shot of being available for the Sept. 13 Purdue game. The Irish have a bye the following week. In the interim, freshman Justin Brent has taken Hunter's spot in the offen- sive depth chart behind Robinson. Kelly said Brent's work ethic and physicality helped him climb the ladder during fall camp, but Hunter would likely take that spot back when he is healthy. According to offensive coordinator/ wide receivers coach Mike Denbrock, the nature of this year's offense will lend itself to less rotation among the wide- outs than in years past. "Not as many guys will be involved in the game plan, just because the sys- tem that we're running and the speed we're trying to go at is going to be quite a bit different where we're not going to be switching personnel in all the time like we did the last couple of years," Denbrock said. "It's going to lend itself to that. Whoever is out on the field and starts the game, those guys are going to be taking probably the majority of the snaps until we feel like they're not performing to the level, because of being tired or whatever, and sub them out." CONSTRUCTION PLANS The South Bend Tribune reported on Aug. 27 that the Campus Crossroads project on Notre Dame Stadium will begin around Nov. 24 — two days after the home finale with Louisville — and is targeted to be completed in August 2017. The $400 million project will add three academic and student life buildings onto the east, west and south exteriors of Notre Dame Stadium, premium seat- ing to where the current press box is, and build a new press box on the other (east) side. Campus Crossroads will involve constructing new academic and stu- dent life buildings on the east, west and south exterior of the football sta- dium. The plan was approved in January and construction will begin on the east and west buildings shortly after the work on the south building will com- mence in November 2015. ✦ Sophomore receiver Corey Robinson underwent surgery on a fractured thumb Aug. 22, but was cleared to play in the game against Rice Aug. 30.
