publicity that comes with being a highly rated recruit. One of the most important aspects of a recruiting weekend is getting a chance to play pickup games with the current members of the team. With Coleman having already seen Notre Dame plenty of times, his ability to mesh with the current players could go a long way toward a commitment. With Ryan and Burns no longer caught up in their own recruiting pro- cess, their focus will be on Coleman. "I'm going to try and see if I can persuade Jalen," Ryan said. Pflueger represents Notre Dame's best chance to land a California pros- pect in more than a decade. He vis- ited San Diego State the weekend of Aug. 30 and is also considering the Irish, Cal, Texas A&M and Washington State. The Notre Dame coaching staff was highly impressed with Pflueger's performance at a summer tournament in Las Vegas. Pflueger is the No. 124 overall player in the 2015 class, the No. 35 shooting guard in the country and the 16th-best prospect from California according to 247Sports. Notre Dame has one scholarship re- maining in this recruiting haul, but could have two if junior forward Eric Katenda is placed on medical scholar- ship due to recurring knee problems. How he holds up during preseason camp will likely determine his basket- ball future. If the Irish have room to sign two more players, their ideal haul would involve Coleman and three-star center Samir Sehic of Cypress, Texas. Sehic is the No. 136 overall player in the class, the No. 16 center in the nation and the 12th-rated player from Texas accord- ing to 247Sports. ✦
