Daly too early.
"[Daly's] head was up, and Otis
knows he hit the center," Fedora said.
"That was part of his job there. He
said, 'I know his head was up. I know I
didn't hit him too early,' but it didn't get
called that way."
Notre Dame never relinquished the
lead it took, only allowing the Tar Heels
back into the end zone with less than a
minute left and with a two-touchdown
lead. An interception from sophomore
cornerback Cole Luke — his third in
two games — snuffed out the last valid
North Carolina threat, paving the way
for Folston's final score of the night and
Notre Dame's last positive yards of the
game. The Irish ended with 519 total
yards, while the defense gave up 510.
