"That's exactly what I did. I couldn't be happier right now." A few days prior to his trip to South Bend for the Notre Dame-Stanford game Oct. 4, Kraemer wasn't plan- ning on ending his recruitment. He wanted to be positive he was mak- ing the right decision. However, two days before the trip, Kraemer decided that he was locked in on the Irish, and his parents couldn't have been more thrilled. "I really wanted to take some visits to other places, but I knew in my heart I wanted to play football at Notre Dame," Kraemer said. "I thought about it and realized that there wasn't a point in waiting. I thought about [Notre Dame offensive line] coach Harry Hiestand and playing for him. I realized that he's the one that's going to get the most out of me as a player, so that made it all easy. That, along with the academics, helped make this the perfect fit for me, and I'm really happy with my decision. "My parents were really excited for me. They wanted to make sure I made the right decision, wanted me to take my time, and now we all know this is the best spot for me. My whole fam- ily is on board, and everyone loves Notre Dame. My parents love Coach Hiestand and feel really comfortable with my decision and are just happy that everything is over." Although prospects flip their deci- sions regularly, Kraemer said that is not his style. "This is it for me. I'm completely done with visits, other than return trips to South Bend," Kraemer said.
