in Notre Dame's 2015 class on Oct. 7. St. Peters Prep coach Rich Hansen believes that Wimbush simply found the best fit for him and that Notre Dame offers everything he is looking for in a college experience. "I tell all of my players, 'This is the one time in your life where you have to be completely selfish,'" Hansen said. "Brandon has to look at this as what is best for him, what situation is best for him and what fit is best for him. I think as he looked at things and progressed through the process, he really wanted to visit Notre Dame and felt this would help him through his thought process. "He did that and then came to the re- alization that Penn State wasn't the best fit for him and that Notre Dame was. "I don't think it was any one thing that helped him make this decision, but it was more about everything and the whole experience with Notre Dame. There is a great opportunity for him to play at Notre Dame, and this is big for his future beyond football." Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly and quarterbacks coach Matt LaFleur were influential in Wimbush's decision to pledge to the Irish. Hansen admits that there's an extra level of comfort with both coaches, and he's confident that the duo will do great things with his senior quarterback. "With Coach LaFleur, he has some great experience, and he's done some great work in the past," Hansen said. "That's only a positive when looking at things with him and Brandon's poten- tial in working with him. "With Coach Kelly, he coaches them hard. He doesn't handle with care. He coaches them hard and gets the most out of his players. That's how players reach their potential. He obviously cares about his players.
