130 ■ THE WOLFPACKER ■ FOOTBALL RECRUITING for the weekend after Halloween. The 6-2, 325-pounder took an official visit to Vir- ginia Tech in September, meaning Settle would have only one more available of- ficial trip left on his slate. Two players committed to other schools are still possibilities. One is 6-4, 245-pound three-star Jason Strowbridge from Deerfield Beach (Fla.) High. Strowbridge surprised observers when he verbally committed to Kentucky over Miami in September. He has since indicated that he would be willing to take visits despite his pledge to the Wildcats. Strowbridge, a heavily recruited three-star prospect, is a bit of an end/tackle tweener. He had 12 sacks as a junior and reportedly runs the 40-yard dash in 4.9 seconds. The other possibility is 6-4, 260-pound Marlon Gonzalez, who moved from Island Coast High in Cape Coral, Fla., to North Fort Myers (Fla.) High this offseason. Gon- zalez, like Strowbridge a bit of a tweener, has verbally committed to South Florida after previously pledging to Florida State. However, he has set up an official visit to Arizona for December and will likely also visit Louisville, Missouri and NC State. Rivals.com rates Gonzalez as the No. 28 weakside defensive end in the senior class and No. 88 prospect in Florida's 2015 class. Jabari Zuniga from Sprayberry High in Marietta, Ga., is an under-the-radar pros- pect that reported to Rivals.com in October that he had an offer from NCSU. His other claimed power conference offers are Iowa State, Kansas State and Minnesota, and he has a host of mid-major tenders. Massive defensive tackle Javier Edwards from Hous- ton is a newer name to the board. Edwards, 6-3, 320 pounds, lines up for Aldine Davis High and also has offers from Kansas State, Mississippi State and Ole Miss. The Texan is taking the SAT for the first time Nov. 8 and then at that point will begin lining up official visits. NC State is expected to be among the likely destinations at this point, but Edwards' stock could take off if he achieves a qualifying score on his first test attempt. Rivals.com lists Edwards as a three-star prospect. ■ Through world class resources and local touch service, Progressive Benet Solutions delivers winning solutions and strategies for your employee benet needs.
