"When Mike Bercovici was under
center, you knew they were going to
pass. Bercovici did run a little bit of
zone read, but his last game against
Stanford he didn't run it very well,"
Lockman said. "As a quarterback who
hadn't run that much, it wasn't what
you would expect.
"Having Kelly back with that expe-
rience running the zone read and the
experience as a leader as a guy who
has started 30 games, that's the differ-
ence as much as Mike Bercovici was
also able to lead effectively."
After leading the Sun Devils to the
Pac-12 championship game as South
Fifth-year senior quarterback Taylor Kelly missed three games due to injury this fall, but has thrown for
1,010 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions in the five games he has played in.
