UNDER THE DOME "I definitely get a sense of the bad guy for a little bit when taking all the happy emotion out of the team we're going against. That's definitely an empowering feeling." — Notre Dame sophomore offensive line- man Ronnie Stanley on what he enjoys about the hostile environments inherent to road games "The implications are out there that everybody knows you've got to keep winning if you want a chance to be in the playoffs. From that perspective, from everybody else's perspective, this is a big game. I don't work in that world. I work in preparation and getting our football team to play their very best. I under- stand all the other implications, but for me and our coaches, we just don't operate in the world." — Kelly on why he considers a top-10 matchup to truly be just another game TWEET OF THE MONTH @joeschmidtiv: "'@NDFootball: This is what ND football is all about. #NDvs- NAVY' honor to play you @Wizkid_nkc good luck" — Notre Dame senior linebacker Joe Schmidt sending a message from the Irish program to Navy senior fullback Noah Copeland, accompanied with a photo of Schmidt, holding crutches, and Copeland during the post-game singing of "Anchors Aweigh" Injury Report/Personnel Update • Outside of senior linebacker Joe Schmidt, Notre Dame was relatively healthy coming out of the Navy game, with junior defensive linemen Jarron Jones (ankle) and Sheldon Day ("stinger" in shoulder) cleared to practice. Sophomore Sam linebacker James Onwualu (concussion) was also cleared to return. • Fifth-year senior safety and team captain Austin Collinsworth continues to wear a shoulder harness in practice. Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said as soon as Collinsworth is ready to "let it loose," Notre Dame will let him play. • Senior safety Eilar Hardy returned to the practice field last week after being removed from action for two months due to the academic fraud inves- tigation. The NCAA cleared him for game action Nov. 7. "We hope this week is one where we can move forward and expand," he said. "He had a good week of practice, but we had to get the rust off there. He has a pretty good understanding of the defense from the spring." • Irish graduate assistant and former safety Kyle McCarthy underwent a second surgery Nov. 4 related to his battle with cancer, which was successful according to Kelly. "Our thoughts and prayers are with him," Kelly said.
