room: "He's definitely calm and said he was proud of us because we came back and fought, but we fell short so he's hurting on the inside." Notre Dame sophomore safety Max Redfield … On the defense's strong start to the second half: "We knew our team was relying on us. We went out there with the same mindset. "Every time we stepped on the field we knew that the team needed us to get a stop, so we did everything we could. Everyone locked in on his as- signment and executed." On the offense putting the defense in bad spots during the first half: "Our offense was struggling a little bit, so we tried to do our best to make up for that. "Obviously, the defense's purpose is to keep the points as low as they can." Notre Dame sophomore receiver Will Fuller … On the pressure felt to make big plays when facing a big deficit: "I don't think we were forced to make big plays. We were forced to execute our offense, and that's what we didn't do early in the game. "When our offense is clicking on all cylinders, we're capable of doing anything." Arizona State head coach Todd Graham … On beating Notre Dame: "That is a good team. Coach Kelly is an incredi- ble football coach. I have been coach- ing against him since 2010. Anytime you can beat a football team with that talent, coaching and character is amazing. "The only other football team that has beat them is Florida State. I think we beat them more soundly. It makes a big statement that we can beat a very good football team." On the game's crowd: "I just want to thank our fans. I usually don't get distracted by much in a game, but when I first came out I was wowed. The atmosphere was unbelievable. The fans packed the house. "My favorite part of the game was when Notre Dame made it a three- point game and our entire crowd just started chanting. That was awesome. That is something I haven't seen." Arizona State fifth-year senior safety Damarious Randall … On defending Everett Golson: "We knew that we had to get a lot of pres- sure on him because he's very, very mobile. We knew in their last five games that they turned the ball over 12 times. "We just went and took advantage of that." On the Sun Devils' focus on blitzes: "Getting pressure on a mo- bile quarterback is kind of like their kryptonite. They just want to sit back in the pocket and run whenever stuff is not open, so we just pressure them a lot. "We just forced him to play for us."
