UNDER THE DOME TWO MORE DEFENDERS GO DOWN WITH SEASON-ENDING INJURIES Another week, another season-ending injury for the Notre Dame defense. An attrition-ravaged Notre Dame defense kept tak- ing more hits in the month of November, with junior nose guard Jarron Jones and freshman safety Drue Tranquill the latest casualties during the 31-28 loss to Louisville Nov. 22. Jones, who was injured on the first Irish defensive play against the Cardinals, will miss the remainder of the season with a Lisfranc injury (a ligament tear in the middle of his foot). He was slated to undergo surgery after Thanksgiving weekend and faces a four- to six- month recovery process. "We think we'll get him back for spring ball," Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said. "That's similar to the injury that [2010-12 center] Braxston Cave had, and we got him back in about four months.
