FROM OUR READERS • I live in the San Francisco Bay area and I can assure you that the talk of the town is Jim Harbaugh. Everyone knows he is a fantastic coach. Some are saying he is one of the best in the NFL and is being compared with Bill Parcells and Bill Belicheck. It's hard to think that Les Miles is in that same category. That said, there is a certain intrigue about Miles coming back to Ann Arbor. I for one have him fourth on my list behind Harbaugh, Sean Payton and Bob Stoops. But in my opinion, Harbaugh and Payton are the A+s and Stoops and Miles are in the A/A- category. I write this as I am listening to Bob Marley sing "It's gonna be all right." Very prophetic … eugenelupario • I have been skeptical from the get-go that Bob Stoops was really interested in moving from a really solid Oklahoma program to our situation. And if he were to come, would we be stuck with Mike Stoops as defensive coordinator, who in Norman does not seem to be held in such high regard nowadays? I could get excited by Les Miles. Starting point: "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future." Hope that's not too naïve here, but I'm a big believer in re- demption. Guy loves Michigan, despite our having rebuffed him twice in some fashion or other? That shows me something. I think he could get top athletes excited about coming here, and could develop them. I'd be excited to see the staff he would bring in. Hopefully all this is moot and we land number 1. FlyOnWall • I got a PSD (Personal Seat Donation) reminder and wrote back to Athletic Development that my decision is based directly on whom we hire as football coach. I said I would renew all 12 season tickets (I have 6 club seats and 6 bowl seats) if we hire Harbaugh, Miles, Stoops, Payton, but would drop at least six if we ended up with Greg Schiano or Steve Addazio. To my surprise they wrote right back, thanking me for being a season ticket holder and offering any as- sistance in the meantime with respect to the PSD donation. Yesterday, I also got an email for a donor event at Crisler to watch the U-M versus Ohio basketball game at Columbus on Jan 13. Hoping it really is an opportunity to meet Jim Harbaugh. Something has to go right for us on these coin flips. champwest From Our Web Site
