interceptions and a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown during 12 games this season at Warren Central. "My senior season was a big part of my recruitment," Williams said. "I didn't put it out there, but I was hurt for most of my junior season. I messed up my ankle. I was injured during my sec- ond game of my junior year, and I was hurt the whole year. I just kept playing. I didn't want to hurt my recruitment or let my team down. I knew if I played at 50 percent or a little above that, then I'd still make enough plays to help the team. "Then this year started and I was fi- nally healthy. I think people finally got a chance to see me play my best. I worked hard this past summer and trained my body and did everything I was sup- posed to and got ready for this year. I was healthy all year long, and that was huge for my recruitment. Seeing me at my best was big for Notre Dame and others, and that's why they all offered me." Williams loves the game of football. Most prep players say it, but few put in the time and effort to be the best they can be. The newest Irish pledge is one of those few. "I'm a film junkie," Williams said. "I love watching tape and use it to get bet- ter. I watch my film. I watch the tape of our opponents. I watch other players that play safety. I'm just trying to perfect my craft and get better. I love this game. I have fun when I'm out there playing, but it's really, really important to me. "I don't think a lot of kids watch a lot of film.
