better than he is right now. I'll be sitting at home and everyone will be watching TV, but I'll be watching highlights or a game. "Whenever my homework is done and things are done around the house, I have some type of game film on." Williams doesn't model his game after one player in particular. However, there is one NFL standout he loves watching in the secondary. "[San Francisco 49ers safety] Eric Reid is incredible," Williams said. "He's good now, but he was just as good at LSU. He's a playmaker. He can intercept the ball. He has good hands. He can come up and hit you. He does everything right. I think the best part about his game is that he's a really smart player. That's big for me. "I study a lot of tape, and you can tell that he did the same thing when he was my age and you know he does it now. He's just a great player. He can do it all." Williams will arrive in South Bend next summer. He has one more high school semester prior to heading off to college. With his senior season behind him and his college commitment in the books, Williams' current focus is build- ing a bond with his future teammates. "I'm really getting along great with some of the other Notre Dame com- mits," he said. "We are all in a group chat through text messaging. That thing is always making my phone buzz. I swear every commit is in there. It's pretty cool. These guys are all very similar person- ality-wise to me. I'm just ready to get up there to Notre Dame, meet them and start winning some games. "Bo Wallace, Ashton White, C.J. Sand- ers are probably the three commits I've connected with the most. They are all cool. I've also known Asmar Bilal and Josh Barajas for a while. That's big hav- ing some local guys going to Notre Dame and some guys from other states. "I like that part about Notre Dame. It's a lot different than other schools when you look at who is going there. They get guys from here in Indiana, some from Florida and even some from out in Cali- fornia. I think that's cool." Williams will run for the track team this spring. As a recruit who has been clocked at 4.50 in the 40-yard dash, Wil- liams has plenty of speed in the second- ary. He will compete in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay. ✦ FILM ANALYSIS Strengths Mykelti Williams is an extremely active foot- ball player who is always on the move while displaying good footwork … His speed is very impressive because he can cover a lot of ground … His ability to get sideline to sideline in a hurry is impressive … Good, natural athlete … Flips his hips and runs with ease … Two-way player in high school … Some schools like him in the secondary, while others believe he could play running back or in the slot at the next level … Will bring a great deal of toughness and physi- cality to the secondary. Areas For Improvement Williams lacks ideal size and length … A very willing, aggressive tackler, but needs to improve overall technique … Isn't put in many one-on- one situations and will need to work on that at the next level … Not talented enough on an island to play cornerback yet … Overall game is better suited for safety. — Tom Loy
