MICHIGAN RECRUITING derdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas cornerback Damon Arnette. Though committed to South Carolina, the 6‑2, 185‑pounder wants to see what U‑M has to offer. He's a three‑star pros‑ pect, the No. 50 cornerback nationally and the No. 79 player in Florida. Other potential visitors for U‑M prior to National Signing Day Feb. 4 include four‑star Mike Weber(the No. 71 overall prospect and No. 8 tail‑ back nationally, and the No. 1 player in Michigan), a local product out of Detroit Cass Tech who was once a Wolverine but has since flipped to Ohio State; Princeton (N.C.) four‑star Johnny Frasier (the No. 163 overall prospect and No. 20 running back nationally, and No. 8 recruit in North Carolina), a Florida State commit who has long been considering an official visit to Ann Arbor; Cedar Cliff (Texas) four‑star DaMarkus Lodge, who is listed as the No. 7 wide receiver in the country (along with standing as the No. 49 overall player in the country and No. 7 recruit in Texas); legacy target Tyrone Wheatley Jr., a four‑star outside the Rivals250 (and the No. 22 tight end nationally) whose father is on the new U‑M staff; and four‑star Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian lineman Kendrick Norton, who holds Michigan in his top five despite not holding an offer from the Wolverines. Norton is the No. 198 overall prospect and No. 15 defensive tackle nation‑ ally, and the No. 33 recruit in Florida. The Michigan staff will be making a strong push in the weeks before National Signing Day to close out the class with a bang. EARLY 2016 It's unlikely U‑M can reel in more than a handful of the most highly ranked among their 2015 targets, re‑ sulting in a small — but potentially impressive — group of signees.
