MICHIGAN RECRUITING negative but rather set up for a big 2016. Already, players in the junior class have taken notice of Michigan's coaching staff, led by Jim Harbaugh. "I think it's great that he's back as the coach, since he played there," Baltimore Gilman four‑star offen‑ sive lineman Devery Hamilton said. "Obviously, he's a good coach. To do what he did to the NFL during his time in San Francisco takes a great coach." Hamilton, a 6‑6, 270‑pounder who is ranked as the No. 22 junior offen‑ sive tackle in the nation, visited Ann Arbor in November for the Wolver‑ ines' home game against Maryland, along with a large contingent of his teammates from The Gilman School. Another player who has visited U‑M in the past — but didn't look to be in the cards for the Wolverines' 2016 recruiting class — is Braden‑ ton (Fla.) IMG Academy tight end Isaac Nauta. The No. 2 tight end and No. 56 overall prospect in the nation plans to take a look toward Ann Ar‑ bor despite committing to Florida State in December. "I talked to Coach [Greg] Mattison and Coach Harbaugh from Michi‑ gan," the 6‑4, 249‑pound Nauta said. "They were saying that even though I'm still committed they are going to keep recruiting me until I sign. They're going to come after me as hard as possible and Coach Mattison wants me to play defensive end. He wants me man up enough to play defensive end for him. "I'm pretty sure I'm going to take an official visit to USC, Michigan, South Carolina, Florida State, and ei‑ ther Stanford or Oregon." Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett four‑star wide receiver Josh Imatorb‑ MISCELLANEOUS NOTES • Two 2015 Michigan commits are enrolled and on campus as Wol- verines. Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice pro-style quarterback Alex Malzone, a 6-2, 205-pound four-star (outside the Rivals250) and No. 12 nationally at his posi- tion, is joined in Ann Arbor by fel- low in-state standout Brian Cole, a 6-2, 190-pound wide receiver/ath- lete. Cole is the No. 4 athlete and No. 91 overall prospect nationally in the 2015 class. Cole is ranked as the second-best player in Michigan by Rivals.com, while Malzone is listed at No. 3. • Malzone and Cole nearly had an- other early enrollee on campus with them this winter. Nashville (Tenn.) Overton four-star cornerback Ugo Amadi decommitted from LSU just days before he was set to enroll, and Michigan was among his potential destinations. He instead chose to head out to Eugene, enrolling at Or- egon. • Although he doesn't hold any scholarship offers, Gilmer ( Texas) High quarterback McLane Carter plans to consider Michigan. The 6-1, 190-pound unranked lefty will meet with U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh in his school during the winter eval- uation period.
