Courtney Bartholomew ◆ Swimming The third-year had an impressive meet at the NCAA Championships in March, finishing second in the 200-yard backstroke with an ACC-record time of 1:49.35. She also placed second in the 100 backstroke (50.51) and fifth in the 200 individual medley (1:55.71). The Holland, Mich., native also swam on the 400 medley relay team that placed second with a school-record time of 3:26.42; only the Stanford squad that beat them has ever recorded a faster time at the NCAA Championships. It is the best relay finish ever for the program, and Bartholomew earned All-America honors in each event while helping the Cavaliers finish in fifth place — the highest the team has ever placed. Malcolm Brogdon ◆ Basketball The redshirt third-year guard was name a unanimous first-team All-ACC selection by the league's coaches and received second-team laurels from the media. In addition, the coaches voted him as the Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He started all 32 games for the Cavaliers, and paced the squad in scoring (14.0 points per game) and free throw percentage (87.9). Both the U.S. Basketball Writers Association and the National Association of Basketball Coaches also tabbed Brogdon as a second-team All-American. He is the first Cavalier to earn a USBWA honor in 32 years and just the fourth to be named All-America by the organiza- tion, joining Barry Parkhill, Jeff Lamp and Ralph Sampson. Eli Harold ◆ Football The early entrant into the NFL Draft is one of the most athletic pass rushers available and will be in high demand when the event rolls around April 30-May 2. In ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr.'s March 5 mock draft, Harold was projected to be taken with the No. 21 overall pick. The 6-3, 247-pounder is listed by the expert as the No. 3 outside linebacker available in the draft. The second-team All-ACC performer finished his third-year season No. 3 in the ACC with 14.5 tackles for loss and No. 6 in the league with 7.0 sacks. He made 54 tackles, forced one fumble and recovered two, one of which he returned 22 yards for a touchdown in UVa's victory over Richmond. Nick Sulzer ◆ Wrestling The two-time ACC champion secured his third All-America honor with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships March 19-21 in St. Louis. He led the Cavaliers to a 19th-place finish as a team and was the only one on the squad to finish among the top eight in his weight class (two Virginia grapplers were eliminated one win shy of All-America honors). Sulzer, a redshirt fourth-year from Cleveland, became just the second wrestler in school history to earn a trio of All-America finishes. He also placed eighth in 2013 and fourth in 2014. He finished the 2015 campaign with a record of 32-4 and outscored his eight opponents 52-25 during the NCAA Championships.
