held national firm specializing solely in employee benefits. It was acquired in 2010 by one of the world's largest human resources and risk management organizations, Marsh & McLennan. Ed continues to have an active leadership role at Trion, which is in the forefront of redefining the employee benefits industry as it responds to changing legislation, inter- net technology and evolving business needs. Mr. Garno resides in Haverford, Pa., with his wife, Kim, and sons Edmund and Peter. He continues to be active in sports, and is currently playing professional squash doubles on the SDA tour. Ed volunteers for various inner-city, cul- tural and healthcare organizations. He has served on the boards of Bryn Mawr Hospital, Conestoga Bank, Merion Golf Club and the Leadership Council of The Haverford School. MICHAEL S. GEISMAR Mike Geismar graduated from the University of Virginia in 1994 with a B.A. in Mathematics and a minor in Statistics. Mr. Geismar co-founded Quantitative Investment Manage- ment in 2003. As the President of QIM, Mr. Geismar oversees the implementation of the firm's investment models and its portfolio management. He also manages investor relations and QIM's general business affairs. Mr. Geismar and Mr. Woodriff first worked together from January until July 1994, when Mr. Geismar was an assistant trader at Blue Ridge Trading. Mr. Geismar then worked as an actuary and benefits consultant for Towers Perrin from September 1994 until August 1996, Coopers & Lybrand from August 1996 until October 1997, and William M. Mercer from October 1997 until October 1998, when he joined Capital One Financial as an analyst. In February 2000, he re-joined Mr. Woodriff, assisting in the development of an equities investment program that led the two to co-found DHR. The Foundation would like to thank Roger Emory, Jack Fockler and Danny Abramson, who have completed their service on the Board. Each served as enthusi- astic, loyal representatives on the Board, demonstrating their love for the University of Virginia and its athletics program while providing extraordinary leadership during their tenures.
