"I hope we can keep it bottled and
keep it going."
Auguste broke out during the post-
season, highlighted by career-best
moments against North Carolina (16
points and 13 rebounds), Northeastern
(25 points) and Kentucky (20 points
and nine rebounds). He will be one of
the ACC's most experienced big men
in 2015-16 and will continue to carry
the torch for the Irish frontcourt.
"He was great," Grant said after
the Kentucky loss. "He was play-
ing against guys who are supposed
to be top-five, top-10 picks. He really
showed what he could do, and his fu-
ture looks bright."
Notre Dame will also benefit from
the addition of its three-man recruit-
ing class, with guard Rex Pflueger and
forwards Matt Ryan and Elijah Burns.
The trip to the Elite Eight will be the
measuring stick this program will use
for years to come, but next year a new
squad will set its eyes on making its
own history.
"The expectations of the group com-
ing back will be very high, and that's a
good thing," Brey said. "The expecta-
tions of the group this year coming off
of 17 losses were a little different.
"It's a championship group, and
we have a nucleus back. It's certainly
something to build on and we want to
use some of the momentum in certain
areas." ✦
