NHL NOTES • Former Michigan goalie and NHL veteran Marty Turco has signed a short- term deal with Austrian team EC Sal- zburg, Sportsnet.ca reported Dec. 19. Turco will play in the European Trophy Finals/Red Bulls Salute, a tournament played in Vienna and Salzberg from Dec. 16-18. The 36-year-old Turco went 11-11-3 in 29 games with Chicago last year, finish- ing with a .897 save percentage and 3.02 goals-against average. Turco re- portedly talked to the Toronto Maple Leafs in November, but hasn't been able to find a job with an NHL club this sea- son. It is unclear how many games he'll play with EC Salzburg.
