COMMITMENT PROFILE Indianapolis Ben Davis athlete Chris Evans picked up a Michigan of- fer after an impressive performance at the first stop on the Summer Swarm tour in Indy and didn't wait long to verbally pledge to the Wolverines. The 5-11, 181-pound three-star, who is ranked as the No. 5 player in his home state and the No. 47 athlete nationally, knew right away Michigan was the right place for him. "Coach [Jim] Harbaugh, Coach [Jedd] Fisch , an d C oach [Ty- rone] Wheatley were all a big part of why I committed," he said. "[Fellow Indiana native] Brandon Pe- ters being there is a big part of why I committed, too. "Coach Harbaugh has a great staff, and everything about him and the coaches is great. He told Coach Fisch, and that made me feel good about my decision." One of the things that stood out to Evans about Harbaugh was his ap- proach to recruiting. A couple weeks before Evans was offered he attended a carnival at Michigan and got a chance to interact with other recruits, players and coaches. That experience allowed him to see what it would be like playing for Harbaugh. "That visit made a huge impact on me," Evans said. "The coaches and the players were interacting. Coach Chris Evans Quickly Knew Michigan Was For Him Evans is one of three Indiana natives committed to the Wolverines in the 2016 class, along with fellow three-star athlete Kiante Enis and four-star quarterback Brandon Peters.
