COMMITMENT PROFILE Winchester (Ind.) Community High athlete Kiante Enis' recruitment was humming along at a nice pace with offers from Cincinnati, Indiana and Iowa, among others, when an offer from Michigan came in. The three-star was almost in shock when he learned about the tender. "My high school coach called me and said, 'Hey, you got the Michigan offer.' I didn't really believe him at first, and then he told me that Coach [Jedd] Fisch was going to call," Enis remem- bered. "Coach Fisch called me and I got to talk to him for the first time, and it was just unbelievable. I couldn't believe it when it first happened." That feeling of disbelief was quickly replaced by reality when the 6-2, 190-pound athlete took his first trip up to Ann Arbor. He recalled what it was like seeing everything that Michigan has to offer and the impact that head coach Jim Harbaugh made on him. "It was a great time," Enis said. "I spent a lot of time with Coach [Tyrone] Wheatley, the running backs coach. I got to look at film and break that down. "Coach Harbaugh spent a lot of time with the recruits, which is differ- ent from most other coaches. He was around us the whole day, and that was really cool. It was huge for me. " H e w a s t h e r e and he was talking a lot. He asked a lot of questions and re- ally wanted to know about us. With other coaches, you usually don't see them around like that." Winchester head coach Mike Jones was a big part of Enis' re- cruitment and knew as soon as the Michi- gan visit was over that the Wolverines would likely get a commit- ment out of his versa- tile playmaker. Jones couldn't say enough about how comfortable the nation's No. 54 athlete and Indiana's No. 8 se- nior prospect felt during and after the trip to Ann Arbor. "Every visit he's taken we have taken together," Jones said. "An hour into our visit at Michigan he looked at me and said, 'This is where I want to go.' It didn't take him long to realize he wanted to be there. "He connected very well with the staff and had a great experience at Michigan. The Brandon Peters [com- mitment] is a big deal to Kiante. Get- ting Chris Evans in the fold is a big deal too since they're all buddies. "He evaluated every school that he One Visit Was Enough For Kiante Enis Enis racked up 3,189 yards and 49 touchdowns as a junior running back, but could line up at a num- ber of different positions with the Wolverines.
