COMMITMENT PROFILE After committing to Georgia South- ern on March 27, Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan safety Josh Metellus was content, but not done with the re- cruiting process. Almost three months later on June 7, the two-star safety picked up a Michigan offer after at- tending a satellite camp in South Flor- ida and decommitted from the Eagles while visiting Ann Arbor a week later. Metellus, along with high school teammates safety Devin Gil and line- backer Devin Bush, stayed on the Michigan campus for three days. Before leaving The Great Lakes State, he was a Wolverine. The 6-0, 187-pounder spent time around the city, liked what he saw and made up his mind before heading back home. "My choice was about the coaches," Metellus said. "I really love the way they run the program. It was also about the area. The fans are really into the football program. I felt really con- fortable there." Even though his commitment came while on the visit, he didn't make the decision right away. Instead, he waited until it was about time to leave. The timing didn't matter to him, but the decision to attend Michi- gan definitely did. "It was so great up there," he said. "I chilled with the players and watched the camp they had going on. During that, I talked to all the coaches. After that was over, I went around the city and I really love the city. I couldn't wait any longer." The staff at Michigan is clearly try- ing to tap into the talent-rich state of Florida, specifically Flanagan High School. Metellus committed to the Wolverines and, just a couple of days later, so did Gil. Rivals.com Southeast recruiting analyst Rob Cassidy has watched the Flanagan trio in person and sees the Flanagan-to-Michigan pipeline devel- oping.
