COMMITMENT PROFILE pledge. With a strong senior season, it just may happen with Johnson, who is just a two-star prospect right now, unranked at his position or within the state of Alabama. "There are a lot of four- and five- stars that get a lot of hype and are busts, and there are a lot of two- and three-stars that end up turning into really good players, and get them- selves drafted," Richards said. "I'm confident that Dytarious will be one of those kids that really develops into a very good player for Michi- gan." — Tim Sullivan FILM EVALUATION Strengths: Johnson has speed that allows him to cover ground quickly and effectively. He has strong lateral skills and keeps his shoulders north and south when he breaks for the ball or to make a tackle. Johnson has decent size, does not hesitate to stick his nose in when tackling and drives his legs through the ball carrier. Fundamental tackling skills are critical to a player's defensive per- formance, and it looks like Johnson is ahead of the curve in that department. Areas of Improvement: Of his entire junior highlight film, there are only a few plays where he is actually touched by a blocker. He does a nice job on those few plays of getting to the tackle, but running free to make tackles is not a real- ity for Big Ten linebackers. Michigan Player Comparison: David Harris (2003-06) had a little more size and a little less speed than Johnson. Harris helped lead a talented U-M defense and has gone on to an impressive NFL career. — Analysis by former All-Big Ten offensive lineman Doug Skene
