COMMITMENT PROFILE to high-point the football and out- leap defenders." Hawkins plans to make return trips to Ann Arbor whenever he can and will now take a lead role in re- cruiting other players to Michigan. Several more New Jersey natives — in addition to Hawkins and John- son — and other players from the area could all end up together in the winged helmet. — Brandon Brown FILM EVALUATION Strengths: It is Hawkins' route-running that stands out most about his game. He runs clean routes and is able to get open short, mid-field or deep. He is patient in setting up defensive backs for his solid array of double-moves and is comfortable sitting down when he finds a hole in the zone schemes. Areas of Improvement: Hawkins is much better at running deep routes than he is short-to-intermediate ones. Working on his short-space quickness will take a very strong game to an even higher level. Michigan Player Comparison: Jason Avant (2002-05) was a key receiver for Michigan during his time in Ann Arbor. They have virtually the same build and aren't blazing fast, but both have a knack for beating defensive backs and mak- ing tough catches look easy. — Analysis from TheWolverine.com
