PREP PROFILES Decision Nearing For Florida Running Back Naples (Fla.) High School run- ning back Carlin Fils-Aime is getting closer to his college decision. The three-star speed back would like to make up his mind before his senior season starts. " I ' d l i k e t o make my com- mitment by Aug. 1," he said. "But I'll delay it if I'm not ready." Part of getting ready will take place over the next few weeks, when the nation's No. 14 running back is slated to take some visits. The 5-11, 175-pounder and his parents will see Auburn and Georgia July 18, North Carolina July 21, and Tennes- see July 23. "I'm really looking forward to fi- nally seeing Auburn," Fils-Aime said. "I've never been there and don't know much more than what I've seen from playing with them on NCAA 14. I'm looking mostly at those four schools." The word "mostly" is key here be- cause, despite having two running backs committed in the 2016 class, Michigan hasn't given up yet. Re- cently, head coach Jim Harbaugh followed Fils-Aime on Twitter and Florida's No. 51 senior still feels like Michigan is interested. The interest is mutual because of another coach on the U-M staff. "I really like Coach [D.J] Durkin," Fils-Aime said. "I learned a lot about him when he was at Florida. Once he was at Michigan, he came down and spoke to us about Michigan as a school. He talked about Charles Woodson and just some of the things at Michigan. " A f t e r w a r d he talked about me coming up whenever I had the chance. My family and I are trying to figure out when we'll be able to do that." That visit didn't get scheduled like some of the others, but the Maize and Blue are still in the back of his mind. "I spoke to a good friend of mine's father, and he was asking me what I wanted to do if football didn't work out," Fils-Aime said. "I told him that I want to be a lawyer, and he told me that Michigan is a great place because they have a great law program. Obvi- ously they have great football but be- ing able to go there and study law at the same time is a nice combination." Michigan may not be the final choice for Fils-Aime, but the door appears to still be open. After an in- jury-shortened junior season where he amassed just 232 yards in three games, Fils-Aime is planning for a huge senior season as a committed prospect. — Brandon Brown ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Naples Naples, Fla.
