rookie since Brendan Morrison had 48 points (20 goals, 28 assists) in 1993-94. He finished sixth in the country with a scoring average of 1.34 points per game. 3. Paul Powers, swimming and diving — Earned three NCAA All-American distinctions (50-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard freestyle relay) and an All-American honorable mention in the 200-yard medley relay. He also won four Big Ten championships (50-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard medley relay) and claimed a bronze medal in the 50-meter freestyle at the 2015 World University Games in international competition. 4. Evan White, swimming and diving — White was named an NCAA All- American honorable mention in the 200-yard butterfly. He also earned Big Ten co-Freshman of the Year honors and was listed as a member of the All-Big Ten second-team. 5. Aubrey Dawkins, basketball — Was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week March 10 after scoring a career-best 31 points against Rutgers, highlighted by eight three-pointers, three days earlier. Over the final 15 games of the season he averaged 10.7 points per contest, with seven double-figure scoring nights. After the Wolverines lost guards Derrick Walton and Caris Levert to injury, Dawkins, who was an early candidate for a redshirt, started 13 times and helped Michigan to a 16-16 overall record en route to winning U-M's Rudy Tomjanovich Most Improved Player award. — Brandon Brown Larkin was the top scoring rookie in the Big Ten with 47 points, thanks to 15 goals and 32 assists, and was named a second-team All-American.
