INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS Earning such high marks at a prestigious high school and a place like Michigan is extremely tough to do, but Soccorsi said she's got the personality for it. "I've always been someone who puts a lot into my academics," she said. "A lot of that comes from being a competitive person. I'm just one of those people that likes to do my best no matter what. "One of my main study habits is to stay ahead. I start writing papers and study - ing in advance so I don't get too overwhelmed. It helps me to stay organized and manage my time effectively. Those things help me do well in school." When she's not anchoring a strong defense on the soccer field or excelling in the classroom, Soccorsi finds time to get involved in the community and better herself as a person. Her experiences at U-M are setting her up for a very success- ful professional future. "One of the things I really enjoy doing is working at soccer camps," she said. "It's a great way to coach little kids and help them improve their soccer skills. Doing community service in any way that I can is also enjoyable for me." Soccorsi said that being able to wear the Block M everyday and represent herself, her family and her school is a blessing that she doesn't take for granted.
