UNDER THE DOME
3.9
Miles from Boston College's Alumni Stadium to Fenway
Park, where the Eagles played Notre Dame Nov. 21. Per
the Notre Dame media relations department, of the 176 neutral
site games in the school's football history, this was the closest
one to the opponent's home field. The previous short‑
est distance was 8.0 miles at Briggs Stadium when
the Irish played their first ever night game versus
Detroit on Oct. 5, 1951.
786
Rushing yards by Darius
Walker in 2004 to set
the Notre Dame re‑
cord for most in a single season by a fresh‑
man, including 43 in the 38‑21 bowl loss
to Oregon State to push him past Jerome
Heavens' 756 set in 1975. Current Irish
running backs coach Autry Denson is
listed No. 3 with 695 in 1995, but
back then his 67 in the Orange
Bowl was not included, so he ac‑
tually should be listed with 762,
in fairness. Denson's current pu‑
pil JOSH ADAMS moved into the
No. 4 spot with 553 after gain‑
ing 147 and 141 versus Pitt and
Wake Forest in the first two
games of November.
