INJURIES CONTINUE TO MOUNT Injuries have been an issue for Notre Dame all season, and with two more starters going down the situation has become dire. The Irish have lost their starting quarterback, running back, tight end, nose guard and nickel back to season-ending injuries. It remains to be seen if the latest batch of injuries will be season ending, but they will definitely impact the Irish depth chart against Stanford. In the first quarter, senior running back C.J. Prosise went down with an ankle injury and did not return. On the final defensive series of the game, senior cornerback KeiVarae Russell also had to be helped off the field. The news for both players was not posi- tive. "Looks like a high-ankle sprain for C.J. and a stress fracture for KeiVarae," Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly announced after the game.
