Like their teammates, Luke and Rus‑
sell's play fluctuates from week to week.
"Our main problem is we lose fo‑
cus," Luke said of the Irish secondary.
"Throughout the game, we need to
maintain the same focus we have in the
beginning of the game. We had a solid
first quarter and most of the second
quarter against USC. Then we let up
some big plays.
"That's one of the main things we've
been focusing on — eliminating explo‑
sive plays whether they're running or
passing plays. If we can get that down,
we'll be fine."
Still, there's no doubt in Luke's mind
Luke made 30 tackles (one
for loss) and intercepted two
passes in Notre Dame's first 10
games this season.
