IRISH IN THE PROS
BY ANDREW OWENS
T
ennessee Titans rookie Cody Riggs
felt disrespected throughout the
lead-up to last spring's NFL Draft,
and he would be the first to tell you
so.
Last season, during his graduate
transfer campaign at Notre Dame af-
ter spending four years at Florida,
Riggs started at cornerback for the
Irish when he wasn't plagued by in-
juries.
Late in the season, he had yet to
receive an NFL Combine invitation.
Riggs admitted it disappointed him.
Months later, he went undrafted and
signed with the Tennessee Titans.
He played just one game before
Oct. 18, but has been a steady con-
tributor in the secondary since then.
"I am not intimidated by anybody.
Whoever is out there I'll do my best to
cover," Riggs told reporters. "I feel like
I have always been a confident player.
I have never been scared of any com-
petition or going against anybody."
