UNDER THE DOME
turnees, the Irish stand
at 93 possible scholar-
ship players for 2016.
Inevitably, Notre Dame
will add more commit-
ments to the class by Na-
tional Signing Day and
could even add a gradu-
ate transfer from another
school this season at a
thin position such as
safety.
Here is an early break-
down of where Notre
Dame currently stands
with the 85-man limit:
QUARTERBACKS
Total: 5
Players (Eligibility): Malik Zaire
(2017), DeShone Kizer (2018),
Montgomery VanGorder (2018),
Brandon Wimbush (2018) and Ian
Book (2019)
The Skinny: All eyes will be on
this position in spring practice
with a likely three-man compe-
tition among Zaire, Kizer and
Wimbush. Like with all walk-ons,
VanGorder's scholarship is on a
one-year basis and could be re-
moved in future seasons if the
Irish need the space. Barring
an unlikely transfer, all five are
strong bets to be on the 2016
roster.
RUNNING BACKS
Total: 8
Players (Eligibility): C.J. Prosise
(2016), Josh Anderson (2016),
Tarean Folston (2017), Josh Ad-
ams (2018), Dexter Williams
