four years, with the struggles I've been
through, to be able to come out and win
my last one is really special."
The win tops off a long list of ac-
colades for Seidel, including other
first-place finishes this season in the
ACC Championships and NCAA
Great Lakes Regional. She won the
10,000-meter race at the NCAA Out-
door Track and Field Championships
last spring as a junior, making this cross
country title her second national title.
"I'm just so proud of Molly," Turner
told UND.com. "She has taken her run-
ning to another level. We were confi-
dent that she could win the race, but we
didn't tell her that because we didn't
want to jinx her. She made it look easy
like she has done all year long.
"She is so self-motivated that [associ-
ate head] Coach [Matt] Sparks has to
pull in the reigns sometimes and say
you don't have to push that hard.
"Every single day she is dedicated to
running, taking care of her sleep and
nutrition. She does all the little things
necessary and does them well. Plus,
she's tough as nails. She has elevated
our program."
One doesn't have to look far for evi-
dence of Seidel's ripple effect on the
program. The Irish placed eighth as
a team with 276 points, behind only
North Carolina State (fifth, 264 points)
from the ACC. Freshman Anna Rohrer
placed sixth overall in the race with a
time of 19:59.7, earning her first All-
America honor in just her rookie sea-
son.
"Anna was up there for a long time,"
