FOOTBALL RECRUITING ROUNDUP • RB Tony Jones: Ran for 514 yards and 11 touchdowns for a Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy squad that went a perfect 9-0 and was listed No. 3 in the country by USA Today in its Dec. 14 rankings. The U.S. Army All-American had three 100-yard rushing games and added 149 receiving yards on the season. • DE Jamir Jones: The two-way star caught 43 passes for 822 yards and nine touchdowns while seeing action as a tight end on offense. He added 98 tackles, 6.5 sacks and an interception for a Rochester (N.Y.) Aquinas Institute team that went 13-0, won a New York Class AA state title and was listed No. 15 in the country by USA Today in its Dec. 14 rankings. • DE Khalid Kareem: The Semper Fi All-American was named the MLive Detroit Defensive Player of the Year after a senior season in which he totaled 56 tackles and 16 sacks for a Farmington Hills Harrison squad that posted a 6-3 record. • TE Cole Kmet: The junior caught 27 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns. He added 43 rushing yards while playing some quarterback for an Arlington (Ill.) St. Viator team that finished 1-8. • OL Tommy Kraemer: Set a Cincinnati Elder (9-4) school record with 23 pancake blocks in a single game. The U.S. Army All American was tabbed as an Ohio Division 1 first-team all-state selection by the Associated Press. • CB Julian Love: The two-way star was named Eastern Suburban Catholic Conference Player of the Year after leading LaGrange Park Nazareth Academy to an Illinois Class 5A state title. He accounted for 1,729 yards of total offense and 30 touchdowns, plus added 92 tackles, three forced fumbles and three interceptions on defense. • OL Josh Lugg: The junior started at left tackle for Wexford (Pa.) North Allegheny and totaled a team- high 102 pancake blocks. The Tigers went 9-2. • RB Deon McIntosh: Ran for 681 yards and seven touchdowns on 134 carries for a Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons team that went 4-6. He finished his prep career third in school history with 2,523 rushing yards. • DB D.J. Morgan: The safety tallied 49 tackles and two interceptions for a Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco defense that forced eight running clocks on the season. The Braves (13-1) finished No. 5 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 rankings. • DE Adetokunbo Ogundeji: The pass rusher's senior season at Walled Lake (Mich.) Central (1-10) was cut short because of an MCL injury. He still finished with 18 tackles, three quarterback hurries, two sacks and a fumble recovery. • DE Julian Okwara: Totaled 84 tackles and nine sacks in 12 games for a Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell team that posted a 7-6 record. Added four forced fumbles and a blocked field goal, while notching two touchdown catches on offense. • S Spencer Perry: Played in just two games for Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy before missing the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. He still managed six tackles for the Ascenders (9-0). • LS John Shannon: The specialist played linebacker as well for a Wilmette (Ill.) Loyola Academy team that went 15-0 and won an Illinois Class 8A state title. He averaged eight tackles per game. • WR Kevin Stepherson: The early enrollee caught 37 passes for 638 yards and eight touchdowns for a Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast team that stumbled down the stretch and finished 2-7. • DB Donté Vaughn: Returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns to lead a Memphis (Tenn.) White- haven squad that went 12-2. He added 40 tackles from the boundary. • TE Brock Wright: Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair (6-5) ended its season with a 36-28 loss to Houston Eisen- hower (8-3).
