  COMMITMENT PROFILE Nate Johnson became a some‑ what surprising Michigan commit Dec. 12, just days after picking up his U‑M offer. The 5‑11, 174‑pounder received a visit at Thompson's Sta‑ tion (Tenn.) Independence High from Michigan's Jedd Fish — the program's passing game coordina‑ tor, quarterbacks coach and wide receivers coach — Dec. 9 and set up an official visit for that weekend. By the time he headed back from Ann Arbor to the Volunteer State, he was a Wolverine. "Coach Fisch came over to the school, and he talked to me in the coaches' office," Johnson explained. "Then he offered. Later that night, he came over and ate dinner with me and my family, and he just ex‑ plained in‑depth about my official visit. "I thought he was real cool. I could really see myself being coached by him. When he explained to me what his coaching style was, I was really interested in that."
