M ichigan commitments had mixed experiences in the final round of the Rivals.com prospect rankings updates. A few key play- ers rose in the rankings, while others saw their rankings fall. Though not committed to Michi- gan yet, Paramus (N.J.) Catholic de- fensive tackle Rashan Gary was the big winner by not moving at all. The 6-5, 290-pounder remained the No. 1 overall prospect in the nation. He is considering U-M along with Ole Miss, Auburn, USC and others, but the Maize and Blue are considered his favorite. Kareem Walker was one Michigan commit that took a major tumble. At one point a five-star prospect and the top running back in the class, he fell from a No. 41 postseason rank- ing to No. 181 overall nationally, and finished as the No. 8 running back in the rankings. The offensive line saw a bit of a bump, primarily in the form of Ben Bredeson and Michael Onwenu. The former, a guard from Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead rose five places to No. 60, while Detroit Cass Tech's Onwenu, a fellow guard, climbed 10 places to No. 147. New Michigan commit Dylan Crawford, a wide receiver from Ran- cho Santa Margarita, Calif., dropped from No. 115 to No. 129, though his close friend — and potential future teammate — David Long, a corner- back out of Los Angeles Loyola, rose from No. 94 to No. 81. Overall, the changes to the Riv- las250 saw the Maize and Blue drop from No. 4 in the Rivals.com team rankings to No. 6, with Notre Dame and Florida surging ahead.
