COMMITMENT PROFILE depth on the roster. Michigan pin- pointed its best linebacker prospects, and coming in at the top was Pem- broke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan four-star Devin Bush. Bush may not look the part of an elite linebacker at just 5-11, 224 pounds — but looks can be deceiv- ing. The son of former Florida State and NFL safety Devin Bush Sr., the younger Bush was an all-state selec- tion in Florida's 8A (largest) classifi- cation as a sophomore (third team), junior (first team) and senior (first team), and led the Flanagan Falcons to the school's first state title during his final go-round in high school. The Wolverines got their man Dec. 16 when Bush picked the Maize and Blue over his father's alma mater, Florida State. "The coaching staff is just great," he said. "There's a phenomenal head coach that has NFL experience. Along with the rest of the staff, I feel like they develop their guys over there. It will give me a great chance to be a great student and athlete at the same time." Bush joined two Flanagan team- mates, three-star linebacker Devin Gil and three-star safety Josh Metellus, in the Wolverines' fold. The duo com- mitted to the Wolverines in June, but their teammate — despite taking about six extra months to come to a decision — beat them to campus, en- rolling in January. "I'll just be taking advantage of being up there early for six or seven months," Bush said of heading to U-M for the winter semester. "I'll get in the weight program, get in the books, just get ready for everything."
