Prominent Duos In The Last 20 Years Of Michigan Women's Basketball Cyesha Goree and Katelynn Flaherty, 2015: In her senior season, the 6‑3 Goree averaged a dou‑ ble‑double with 13.8 points and a team‑leading 10.5 rebounds per contest en route to All‑Big Ten second‑team honors from the coaches and media. As a freshman, Flaherty led the Wolverines in scoring (14.3 points per game), despite starting only six times. The two of them helped Michigan to a 20‑15 record (8‑10 Big Ten) and a deep run in the Women's NIT that ended with a 69‑65 loss to UCLA in the semifinals. Veronica Hicks and Krista Phillips, 2010: Dur‑ ing her junior season, the 5‑9 Hicks started all 35 games and led the team in scoring (13.2 points per game) from her guard position. She also led the team in steals with 67 and minutes played at 35.9 per game, and received All‑Big Ten honorable mention recognition. In her final season as a Wolverine, the 6‑6 Phillips also started all 35 games and led the team in rebounds (6.7 per game) and blocks (62). She was fourth on the squad in scoring (9.8 points per game) and combined with Hicks to help Michigan achieve a 21‑14 record (8‑10 Big Ten) before losing to Miami in the WNIT semifinals, 76‑59. Tabitha Pool and Jennifer Smith, 2004: Smith, a 6‑3 center, was an All‑Big Ten first‑team selection by the media after averaging 20.7 points and 7.1 re‑ bounds per game during her senior season. Pool, a 6‑1 guard, averaged 13.3 points as a junior and was an honorable mention All‑Big Ten pick. The team finished just 14‑17 overall (6‑10 Big Ten) and did not play in the postseason. LeeAnn Bies and Alayne Ingram, 2001: Just a sophomore in 2001, the 6‑3 Bies averaged 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game and was recognized as an honorable mention All‑Big Ten performer by the coaches and the media. The 5‑7 Ingram, who averaged 11.7 points and 4.0 assists per game during her junior campaign, complemented Bies that year. The duo helped Michigan go 19‑12 overall (10‑6 Big Ten), and earn a No. 8 seed and reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to eventual national champion Notre Dame, 88‑54. Stacey Thomas and Alayne Ingram, 2000: With an overall record of 22‑8 and a 13‑3 mark in the Big Ten, the 2000 squad is the best team in program history with a .733 win percentage. Ingram averaged 12.4 points and 2.4 assists as a sophomore that season. Cyesha Goree earned second- team All-Big Ten honors last season in her final year of eli- gibility.
