The NBA TIM HARDAWAY JR. GROWING IN ATLANTA Tim Hardaway Jr. was a first-team NBA All-Rookie selection two years ago with the New York Knicks, and now he's a guy who can't get off the bench in Atlanta. He even went through a stint in the NBA D-League recently before the Hawks called him back up. However, Atlanta head coach Mike Budenholzer hasn't given up on the former Wolverine, who averaged 18.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in five D-League contests. Not even close. "He's been very good," Budenhol- zer told The New York Post. "Very im- pressed, very pleased with his work behind the scenes that nobody sees, working out in the weight room, con- ditioning, shooting, everything. "I can promise you he's doing well and is in a good place. His ap- proach to it has been very profes- sional. There's a real emphasis here on player development. "We've seen guys come in and not start out as gangbusters. Through work and effort, they find a way. I would say he's following that path." Hardaway has started to play a
