"She is a lefty who just goes out there and competes all the time," the coach said. "I think she is going to fit in well with our team because she works so hard and is a great competitor." Lommer was ranked as the No. 20 senior in the country and the No. 1 re- cruit from the Chicago area by Tennis- Recruiting.net. She has been ranked as high as No. 10 nationally in her class throughout her high school career. She was an International Tennis Federation doubles winner in Guate- mala at the Copa Universidad Galileo this past March. That same month, the lefty also reached the semifinals of the Panama Bowl. Lommer has also made a run to the singles finals of the USTA National Winter Championships, where she dropped a three-set match. Heidi Ritner; Newport Beach, Calif.; water polo — Ritner was a member of the USA Southern Pacific Olympic Development Program in 2012 and 2014-16 giving her five solid years of progress while working with some of the nation's top players and coaches. She was a member of the Youth National Team in 2015 and was the Union Americana de Natacion All-Tournament goalie and MVP. She and her team won the Califor- nia Interscholastic Federation Cham- pionship in 2012-13 and she was also a three-time Pacific Coast League Champion and was named the Pa- cific Coast League MVP in 2013-14. Her skills in net also earned her the 2014-15 Pacific Coast League Goalie of the Year honors. Throughout her high school career, she was a two- time All-CIF first-team selection. "Heidi is considered the best goalie in her respective age group," head coach Dr. Marcelo Leonardi said. "She won gold this past summer in Jamaica to qualify for youth worlds next sum- mer. She is technically sound and ex- tremely explosive with quick hands and strong legs. She also has the abil- ity to make pinpoint passes down the pool. Heidi's tactical understanding of the game is very high. She is a game- changer." Polina Shchennikova; Evergreen, Colo.; gymnastics — Success in gym- nastics comes easy for Shchennikova as the daughter of Alex and Katia Shchennikova, former gymnasts on the Soviet National Team. Shchennikova competed with TI- GAR (The International Gymnastics Academy of the Rockies) gymnastics from 2011-15 and is a two-time na- tional team member. Shchennikova was on the U.S. Junior National Team 2012-14 but missed competing in 2014 due to injury. She's been competing in national competitions since 2010 and took second place at the 2012 Nastia Liukin Cup in the all-around. Her last major competition was at the 2013 P&G Championships where she placed third on bars and eighth in the all-around. "Polina is absolutely a world-class athlete on uneven bars," gymnastics head coach Bev Plocki said. "She has been in the elite program most of her career. She is artistically beautiful and graceful as an athlete." Alisa Snyder; Phoenix; golf — Sny- der has been instrumental in Xavier Prep's domination of Arizona golf.
