COMMITMENT PROFILE coach, Gandalf Church, thinks he'll be ready to go in the fall. "He's 100 percent. He's ready to play this upcoming season," Church said. "The injuries were unfortunate for him, but he's looking to bounce back this year. "I think Michigan saw his charac- ter, and it all rooted from there. He's very explosive and quick to the ball. He has great measurables. I think that's what stands out most about his game and probably what they saw in him." Malone-Hatcher visited other schools, including Alabama, Wis- consin, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State, thinking that he could potentially see a situation better than Michigan, but that just never happened. Now that he made his decision, Malone-Hatcher is more than ready to recruit the best of the best to Ann Arbor. "I am just going to keep encourag- ing them to take that time and make the right decision for themselves, but in my opinion it doesn't get any better," Malone-Hatcher said. "I had the offers from a lot of the big schools and took in-depth looks into that whole situation, and I didn't find anything that could match Michigan. "Just the amount of support that they give academically and athleti- cally is unmatched. That is the big- gest thing I'll be preaching, but I definitely don't want to be the guy that pressures people. I hated when people pressured me to commit. You can't rush a lifetime decision." Malone-Hatcher sent out a tweet that he would be giving Michigan assistant Chris Partridge competi- tion for Michigan's best recruiter. The high school senior is ready to talk to every kid he feels fits at U-M. Malone-Hatcher is rated as a four- star recruit and the nation's No. 14 overall strongside defensive end by Rivals.com. — Brandon Justice FILM EVALUATION Strengths: Corey Malone-Hatcher is an explosive player that is very quick and athletic for his size. His versatility seems to be one of U-M's favorite features — he can play defensive end and linebacker. Areas of Improvement: Every analyst and even his coach know that his injury is obviously a setback. His recovery from that is key, and it has been a slow process. Michigan Player Comparison: With a similar ranking and an eerily similar frame, he is comparable to freshman defensive end Carlo Kemp. Malone- Hatcher is listed at 6-3, 246 while Kemp is 6-3, 250, and their playing styles are almost identical. In a couple of years, it may look like two clones lining up on the defensive line in The Big House. — Analysis from TheWolverine.com
