ing performers in both long and short
events, as well as demonstrating a very
lengthy recruiting reach. From an elite
freestyler in Felix Aubock, all the way
from Vienna, Austria, to some of the
best out of the state of California, to lo-
cal standouts from the outskirts of De-
troit and Ann Arbor, Michigan's signees
for 2016-17 continue to underscore a
high level of future expectation.
2. Ice Hockey — Michigan's hockey
recruiting gets a firm quality confir-
mation with three of its recruits taken
in the first seven rounds of the NHL
Draft this year. All figure to remain
Wolverines for the time being, but
certainly are capable enough to draw
the attention of the big boys.
Michigan's hockey recruiting goes
well beyond that top trio of forward
Will Lockwood, goalie Jack LaFontaine
and forward Nick Pastujov, however.
Mike Bottom's 10-swimmer, two-diver class is one of the nation's top groups of incom-
ing recruits and is the best among men's Olympic sports at Michigan in 2016.
