He also is the first Irish tight end to snare two touchdowns in the same game since Durham Smythe versus Army in the 2016 Shamrock Series held in San Antonio. 6 Consecutive games senior wide receiver Miles Boykin has caught a touchdown pass. He now shares the second-longest streak at the school with Will Fuller, who reached that mark in 2014. The standard is eight contests in a row by All- American Jeff Samardzija in 2005. 10 The win over Florida State marks the second straight season (and third in last four) Notre Dame amassed at least 10 victories in a season Back- to-back double digit win totals have not occurred since the three in a row in 1991 (10-3), 1992 (10-1-1) and 1993 (11-1). It also was achieved in 1988 (12-0) and 1989 (12-1) and 1973 (11-0) and 1974 (10-2) — with the latter year marking the first time the Irish began playing 11 games during the regular season. 15.7 Points per game allowed by the Notre Dame defense this season in the six home games — and not once more than 17. This marked the first time since 1985 — Gerry Faust's final season as head coach — when the Irish in six home games did not permit any oppo- nent to tally more than 17 points. The Irish yielded only 17 against Michigan, Vanderbilt and Stanford, 16 versus Ball State, 14 against Pitt and finally 13 in the Florida State home finale. It also should be noted that two of the touchdowns surrendered came on kickoff returns (Michigan and Pitt). 27 Degrees at kickoff, which was the third- coldest game at Notre Dame Stadium since 1980 (not including wind chill and how temperatures might fall during the course of the game). The coldest at kickoff was 24 degrees ver- sus Navy in 1991, followed by 26 degrees versus BYU on Nov. 23, 2013. 42-15-1 Record Notre Dame has when wearing green since 1977, when head coach Dan Devine reintroduced them against USC in the sixth game and had his team don green for the remainder of his tenure through 1980. The breakdown by each coach since then is 32-9-1 with Devine, 2-0 with Gerry Faust, 1-1 with Lou Holtz, 0-1 with both Bob Davie and Tyrone Willingham, 1-2 with Charlie Weis, and now 6-1 with Brian Kelly. This game against the Seminoles marked the first under Kelly that the Fighting Irish wore green at home. They donned green, or elements of it, five times, previously: The Irish lost 35-31 at Michigan in 2011, but won all such Shamrock Series events versus Army in 2010 (27-3), Maryland in 2011 (41-24), Arizona State in 2013 (37-34), Boston College in 2015 (19-16) and Army in 2016 (44-6). 1982 The most recent football season Florida State saw an individual rush for more than 200 yards against it, which Notre Dame senior Dexter Williams did with 202. The last person to achieve the feat was Southern Missis- sippi's Sam Dejarnette, who rushed for 304 yards against the Seminoles on Sept. 25 that year in a 24-17 loss. BY THE NUMBERS BY LOU SOMOGYI 113 Carries for senior running back DEXTER WILLIAMS in the six games he has played this season that have totaled 770 yards and 10 touchdowns. Those numbers already surpass all the data through his first three seasons combined when he totaled 99 carries for 641 yards and eight scores. PHOTO BY BILL PANZICA
