46 NOV. 19, 2018 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED FOOTBALL RECRUITING ROUNDUP RECRUITING NOTES • Notre Dame 2020 quarterback commit Drew Pyne put himself in the record books in week eight of his junior sea- son, becoming the all-time leading passer in New Canaan (Conn.) High history, surpassing the previous mark of 6,335 yards, in a 34-0 win over Norwalk (Conn.) High. The junior has recorded 6,444 passing yards and 74 passing touchdowns in his prep career. This season, Pyne has completed 121 of 183 passes (66.1 percent) for 1,742 yards with 23 touchdowns and three interceptions. • Irish offensive line commit Andrew Kristofic of Gibso- nia (Pa.) Pine-Richland took his official visit to Notre Dame Nov. 10 to watch the Fighting Irish take on Florida State. Kristofic was one of several Irish commits in town for the game, including four-star safety Kyle Hamilton, four- star defensive tackle Jacob Lacey, four-star defensive end NaNa Osafo-Mensah, four-star linebacker Osita Ekwonu and three-star cornerback K.J. Wallace. • Four-star 2020 outside linebacker Kalel Mullings of Milton (Mass.) Academy took a visit to Notre Dame for the Michigan game Sept. 1, and will see the Irish play one more time this season. When Notre Dame hosts its Shamrock Series game in Yankee Stadium Nov. 17, Mullings will travel to New York and watch the Irish take on No. 13 Syracuse. Mullings, the No. 4 outside linebacker and No. 82 overall player in the class of 2020 per Rivals, has offers from top programs from across the nation, including Michigan, Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State and several others. • One of Notre Dame's top overall targets in the class of 2020 is Rylie Mills, a four-star defensive end from Lake For- est (Ill.) High. Mills, Rivals' No. 10 strongside defensive end and No. 152 overall player in the class of 2020, recently told Blue & Gold Illustrated that Notre Dame's strong season has caught his eye. "It's definitely very impressive," Mills explained of Notre Dame's season so far. "The past couple of years they've been in the top 25, and last year they were in the top three for a while. "It shows me they are on the right track and putting the pieces together. That's comforting for me to see that they know what they are doing and it's all coming together." — Corey Bodden and David McKinney • WR Kendall Abdur-Rahman: Accounted for 215 yards of total offense and four touchdowns to lead Edwardsville (Ill.) High (8-3) to a 45-16 win over Aurora (Ill.) West Aurora (9-2) in the second round of the Illinois Class 8A playoffs. Next game: at Frank- fort (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East (11-0) in the quarterfinals. • S Litchfield Ajavon: Racked up 14 tackles for Alexandria (Va.) Episcopal (5-3) in a 17-14 loss to Bethesda (Md.) Landon (8-1).
