second Annual VAF Tee it Up with UVa Golf
The second annual Tee it Up golf tournament to benefit the UVa golf programs was held at Birdwood
Golf Course in Charlottesville on November 16. Tournament participants helped raise over $20,000 for
the golf programs. A special thank you goes to our Eagle sponsors—the 1980's UVa golf team members,
Blue and Bohman families, Dean Smith family and Williamsville Wellness.
There were 18 foursomes that included men's and women's golf alumni, VAF members and men's
and women's golf team members and coaches. Special guests included Ben Kohles and Steve Marino,
both UVa student-athlete alumni and PGA Tour members.
This year's winning team, with a shamble format score of 123, included Dennis McCarthy, Randy
Scott, Dennis Stough, Kyle Stough and men's golf student-athlete Gregor Orlando. The winners' names
will be added to the Tee it Up trophy displayed in the Birdwood Clubhouse.
The 2013 Tee it Up tournament details will be released this spring.
