FOURTH QUARTER NOTRE DAME, 12-7 Top Moment: With the score still 12-7, Notre Dame took possession at its 23-yard line with 7:55 remaining. It proceeded to run out the clock mostly by running but especially converting three third-down situations. • On third-and-six from the Irish 37-yard line, Book connected with McKinley over the middle for a seven-yard gain. • On third-and-six from the Notre Dame 48, Book found fifth-year se- nior receiver Ben Skowronek cross- ing across the middle for 12 yards. • On third-and-five from the Lou- isville 35, Williams shook free for a 24-yard gain down to the 11. Notre Dame was able to take a few knees from there. Feature Performer: Williams was re- lied on heavily to help keep the clock running. He carried 12 times for 57 yards during the quarter, highlighted by the 24-yard run on third-and-five that basically sealed the verdict.
