School Commits Class Of 2021 Scholarship Offer Master List 2021 Master List Changes Prospects Removed: None. • Notre Dame put out a couple of new class of 2022 offers in early October. Sun Prairie (Wis.) High's Isaac Hamm, the No. 5 player in Wisconsin and the na- tion's No. 31 strong-side defensive end per Rivals, was fired up to add the Irish to his scholarship sheet during a conver- sation with position coach Mike Elston. "They basically told me that as an ath- lete and football player they would've offered me when I was in eighth grade, but they wanted to see my grades get boosted this school year," Hamm ex- plained. "If I could improve my grades, then I'd have a scholarship offer coming my way. So I knew I needed to get that done. "I have all A's right now and sent that in to Notre Dame. That's what did it for them. I kept my end of the deal, and they kept theirs." Hamm holds eight offers in total with seven Big Ten schools after his services and the Irish now on his list. He's receiv- ing interest from several other programs and would like to see a few SEC schools throw their hats into the ring. • Notre Dame offensive line coach Jeff Quinn dished out good news to Las Vegas Bishop Gorman's Jake Taylor, who is Rivals' No. 7 player in Nevada and the No. 33 offensive tackle nationally. "For it to come this early was a shocker to me," Taylor said. "It's the No. 1 offen- sive line school in the nation. They're a great school, and it's just unbelievable." Taylor has seen his recruiting process skyrocket since the pandemic shut down normal recruiting activities in March. He's picked up 16 new scholarship offers in the past seven months, including the likes of Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State and USC. Bishop Gorman's new defensive backs coach is Nicco Fertitta, who played de- fensive back and on special teams for the Fighting Irish from 2015-18. • Honolulu Punahou's Kahanu Kia, a Rivals three-star talent and the No. 9 prospect in the Aloha State, is a major target for the Fighting Irish. Kia is plan- ning to head to Utah for a football camp in late October and trip to South Bend the following week to take a self-guided tour of campus. As much as he would like to, Kia won't be able to interact with the coaches on campus because of the NCAA's recruiting dead period. Look for Kia to an- nounce a commitment sometime in October, and his top choices are Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA and Utah. — Mike Singer Las Vegas Bishop Gorman product Jake Taylor, a four-star class of 2022 prospect and the No. 33 offensive tackle in the land per Rivals, added Notre Dame to his offer sheet on Oct. 11.
