www.BLUEANDGOLD.com OCT. 24, 2020 39 Narduzzi, who entered play against Miami Oct. 17 with eight losses in his previous 19 games — six of those defeats by seven points or fewer. For Notre Dame, Kelly has been nearly invincible on the road against ACC foes, although this will be his first test away from home this season after the postponement of the Sept. 26 game at Wake Forest. Since 2016, Kelly's Irish are 7-1 on the road against ACC teams, winning those seven by an average of 26.4 points. Advantage: Notre Dame INTANGIBLES Under any circumstances, a Pitt-Notre Dame matchup is worrisome for Irish fans, especially after the Panthers nearly spoiled each of the last two legitimate title runs for the Irish. In 2012, Notre Dame scored a 29-26 triple- overtime win. Then, in 2018, Notre Dame rode a fourth-quarter comeback to an ugly 19-14 victory that kept an Irish College Football Playoff run on track. In a series that dates back 70 games and 110 years, close encounters have been the norm when these two teams meet on the field. The Panthers — who will be the most experi- enced team the Irish face this regular season — feature a quarterback who has five career fourth- quarter comeback wins. Kelly is 5-1 at Notre Dame against Pitt, with four of those five victories decided by fewer than six points. Advantage: Pittsburgh GAME PREVIEW: PITTSBURGH Offense Pos. No. Name Ht. Wt. Yr.
