Both are now committed to SEC programs, with Miller choosing Georgia and Stokes joining Florida's class. Although Division I programs are permitted to exceed the 25-scholarship annual limit these next two years due to the NCAA suspending its initial counter rule, the teamwide 85-scholarship limit is expected to keep Franklin and his staff from doing so. A 25-player class is realistic, although it's also possible the group will end up with 23 or 24 members. It'll all depend on which players are available in the fi- nal months. Because of that, there are a lot of ways this class could go to finish out. De- spite holding commitments from both Yazeed Haynes, from Lansdale, Pa., and Ejani Shakir, Atco, N.J., a third wide re- ceiver appeared to be a real possibility. The Nittany Lions hosted Roanoke, Va., wideout Carmelo Taylor for an of- ficial visit June 24-26. Another four- star prospect, Taylor ranks No. 333 nationally in the On3 Consensus. He took three official visits in June, going to South Carolina (June 10-12) and Virginia Tech (June 17-19) before coming to Penn State. Virginia Tech was believed to be the favorite. Franklin and his staff also extended an offer to North Palm Beach, Fla., receiver Micah Mays on July 5. Mays has never visited Penn State and was believed to be leaning towards Wake For- est, but he could be a player to monitor for a visit at the end of July. The other position on of- fense to monitor is along the offensive line. Four-star of- fensive tackle Evan Link, from Burke, Va., was down to Penn State and Stanford, with a decision expected in mid-July. Both schools hosted the 6-5, 290-pound tackle for official visits last month. The Gonzaga High prospect has been at the top of Phil Trautwein's tackle board since last fall. Stanton Ramil, a 6-7, 320-pound of- fensive tackle prospect, was another player to keep an eye on. A native of Rochester, N.Y., Ramil moved to Ala- bama during the COVID-19 pandemic to continue his football career. However, most of his family still resides in New York, which makes Penn State an attractive option for the nation's 211th- ranked player. He took an offi- cial visit to Penn State the final week in June. Auburn, Michi- gan State, North Carolina and Tennessee are also in the mix. Defensively, Penn State could add prospects at every position. Even with Rojas and Robinson expected to com- mit, Richmond, Va., linebacker Ka- veion Keys is another player to monitor. Following his official visit June 24-26, London Montgomery, a four-star running back from Scranton, took official visits to Penn State, Virginia Tech and Boston College in June. He's expected to make his decision in mid-July. PHOTO COURTESY MONTGOMERY FAMILY Rk. School Commits 1. Notre Dame 19 2. Ohio State 16 3. Texas 18 4. Alabama 11 5. Georgia 12 Rk. School Commits 6.
