Their mission now is to end the losing that has bothered players, coaches and fans alike. "We'll be better," Lee said. "We are coming with a different mentality. Any- body in this program can tell you, nobody here likes losing. We can lose no more. So, it's just a different mentality. "We're going all out, 110 percent on ev- erything. Every play." Lee said fans will notice a difference in his game this fall. As a high school stand- out, he often simply ran away from op- ponents. But in college, he's started to embrace the idea that running over a would-be tackler to get an extra 2 yards is often a better option than bouncing outside and taking a loss while trying to make a big play. Another area of focus has been blocking, and that's where Nittany Na- tion can expect to see the biggest growth from Lee this year. "I have improved in that a lot," he said. "I understand blocking more. My first few years, it was just, block my man and try to get the job done. Now it's levels and different techniques to use to get a good block, a good strike, a good punch. I el- evated a lot in that phase." Lee credited the offensive line for help- ing him with extra work during spring practice. He also praised Seider, who has long viewed him as potentially one of the country's top running backs, even if his journey has been one of peaks and valleys. "He's a blessing, to be honest, because he's got a lot of knowledge and he's been at the level that most of us are trying to get to and reach," Lee said. "He comes with a lot of experience, and you can just tell. Every day he comes in with a passion. He loves football. He's going to coach every little thing to the fullest. At some point, you think as a player, 'OK, this is annoying or repetitive.' But when you get older, you realize [it's important to] start listening to him because he knows what he's talking about. And then when you start listening Lee has been the team's leading rusher each of his first two seasons at Penn State, gaining 438 yards as a true freshman and 530 last year.
